Mashrafe’s farewell to be held at home: BCB president

Yeasin Hasan from London: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan confirmed that Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will be offered farewell organizing a ODI series in the country.

The BCB president made the disclosure while addressing reporters in London on Wednesday.

“We will do it (Mashrafe’s farewell) as nicely as possible. It should be done at home. When we talked with him about it, we said so. We want to do it at home ground,” Nazmul Hassan Papon said.

There was a question about the One Day career of Mashrafe. The skipper was the only hope in Bangladesh’s bowling side before this world cup. But, he could not meet the expectations in the stage of world cup. Everything went against the skipper. He could not bag sufficient wickets, could not save runs. Criticism started over his career, captainship.

Newsmen wanted to know about his future plan after the match against Pakistan, Mashrafe said, “The first plan is to return to home.” The captain did not share his thoughts about future plan.

Bangladesh team is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to play three ODI matches in the last phase of this month. Mashrafe will lead the team there.

Mortaza has played 217 ODIs for Bangladesh, claiming 266 wickets.
