Mask scam: ACC issues letters to 3 organizations

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) issued notices to three organizations including health ministry to investigate the irregularities in buying mask and personal protective equipment (PPE).

The watchdog sent the letters from its headquarters on Sunday (June 21), ACC public relations wing director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed.

According to the letter signed by ACC probe team chief Mir Md Joynul Abedin Shibli, secretary of health ministry, director general of health decorate and director of central medicine have to send informations, documents within June 30.

In the letter, ACC asked health ministry to provide documents of purchasing mask, PPE, sanitizer, ICU equipment, ventilator, PCR machine, Covid-19 test kit, projects name, amount of allotted money and name of implementation organization.

Earlier on June 10, in an emergency meeting ACC decided to start probe into the allegations of corruption in purchasing of N95 masks and PPE.
