Mobile food testing lab inaugurated in city

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has inaugurated mobile food safety laboratory in the capital to ensure food safety through instant testing of food items and protect public health.  

The minister launched the lab through a programme at Hotel Sonargaon in the city on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, he promised to launch such projects across the country.

Sadhan Chandra Majumder said, “Mobile food testing lab is an epoch-making initiative. The lap will go to various areas of the Dhaka and test foods.”

He also said the first mobile lab has created a new horizon in the country’s food safety campaign.

Chaired by Bangladesh Food Safety Authority chairman Syeda Sarwar Jahan, the function was addressed, among others, by deputy office director – Feed the Future, Office of Economic Growth (USAID Bangladesh) Osagie Christopher Aimiuwu, FAO representative in Dhaka Robert D Simpson.
