‘Mobile tower radiation exposure not harmful to health’

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) claimed that the mobile radiation exposure is not harmful to health, environment in the country.

Concerned officials of the organization said, there are some confusions regarding mobile tower radiation in Bangladesh which is baseless. There is nothing to be panicked.

Speakers made the opinions while addressing a program titled ‘Tower Radiation Standard and Recent Survey Findings’ in capital’s Hotel Sonargaon on Monday.

BRTC spectrum division commissioner Md Aminul Hasan said radiation levels in Bangladesh were below the international and commission’s mark. Nothing to be panicked with it.

BTRC engineering and operations division deputy director Dr. Shamsuzzoha said, “We have conducted survey in Dhaka, Khulna, Sundarbans, Feni, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur and Jamalpur. Radiation level in the areas was below the danger limit.”

BUET professor Dr Sotto Proshad Mazumdar, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) marketing division director SM Nazmul Hasan and others joined the programme.
