Muktijuddha Mancha GS among 3 remanded

A Dhaka court has placed three Muktijuddha Mancha leaders to a three-day remand each in a case filed over the attack on Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Haque passed the order on Tuesday noon.

Earlier, Shabag Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Arifur Rahman, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court and sought a five-day remand for them each.

The accused who were remanded are: Central Secretary General (GS) of Muktijuddha Mancha Al-Mamun, Office Secretary Mehedi Hassan Shanto and GS of its Dhaka University (DU) unit Yeasir Arafat Turjo.

Nur and some of his supporters were injured in the attack carried out by activists of a faction of Muktijuddho Moncho on Sunday.

A case was filed against eight Muktijuddha Mancha leaders and activists and 35 other unknown people with Shahbag Police Station in this regard on Monday.
