Muslim devotees urged to offer Shab-e-Meraj prayers at homes

In an effort to contain the risk of spreading coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country, the Islamic Foundation has urged all Muslim devotees to observe Shab-e-Meraj at homes and suggested avoiding mosques to offer prayers all the night.

This time, the foundation has not planned any programme like waz mahfil (religious programme) due to the coronavirus but a brief Munajat will be held after Magrib prayers.

Anisur Rahman, director of the Islamic Foundation, came up with the information on Sunday (March 22).

Muslim devotees observe Shab-e-Meraj marking the special journey of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to meet Allah.

Muslim devotees offer special prayers all the night in mosques and homes seeking blessings of Allah for the welfare of the entire nation and the Muslim Ummah.
