Narayanganj under lockdown, administration on high alert

The Narayanganj administration on Tuesday night imposed a complete lockdown in Naryanganj city corporation area to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The local administration and law enforcing agencies are on high alert from Wednesday morning to ensure social distance in the densely-populated commercial city.

Confirming the news, Narayanganj police super Jaedul said law enforcing agencies are working seriously to contain coronavirus spread in the city.

The city corporation area has come under complete lockdown after many COVID-19 patients were detected in the area, he added.
Army, RAB and policemen have been deployed in Narayanganjsadarupazila, Fatullah and Siddhirganj to ensure social distance. Communications with other districts has also been stopped.

The administration’s restriction initiatives came to effect a day after the city corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy urged the government to impose curfew in her city corporation area.
