‘No one infected with coronavirus in country now’

The three people who were found to be infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bangladesh are now free from the disease. Now, no one in the country is currently infected with COVID-19.

Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), came up with the claim at a regular press briefing at Mohakhali in the capital on Saturday (March 14).

"Two out of three patients have already recovered and the other one underwent a test within the last 24 hours and the result came out negative. Another test will be carried out in the next 24 hours. If that comes out negative then we’ll be able to release the patient,” Flora said.

“So there’s no one in Bangladesh who is affected with coronavirus at present," she said.
