‘No scope of deteriorating law and order situation’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government has nothing to do over the issue of the Dhaka city corporation polls and Swarasati Puja being on same day. The jurisdiction in this connection totally goes to Election Commission (EC). However, the government is ensuring measures so that law and order situation is not deteriorated centering the issue.

The Minister told this to the reporters after attending a programme at the capital’s Mogbazar area on Friday.

He said, “Law enforcement agencies will do what EC instructs.”
