‘Number of infection increasing due to lack of awareness’

Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said the number of coronavirus infected persons is increasing due to lack of awareness among people.

The minister made the opinion while addressing a program organized by Deputy Committee of Awami League’s science and technology affairs on Monday (June 22).

He said, “It’s true that many people got infected with this virus but, the death rate is between 1.33 and 1.35 percent due to sincere efforts of the government and efforts of all. We are in better position than others. But, we need to be alert more.”

“If I don’t follow health rules, then no one will be succeeded to provide me the safety. My family is depended on me. It should be kept in mind,” he added.

Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek and Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin joined the program virtually.
