One held in connection with Saima murder

Staff Correspondent: Detectives have arrested a person in connection with a case filed over the killing of minor girl Samia Afrin Saima who was murdered after rape in capital’s Wari.

A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the man.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman confirmed this on Sunday noon, but he did not mention the name of arrestee.

He said a press conference will be arranged at DMP Media Center to disclose the matter.

The body of the seven-year-old girl was found on Friday night in a nine-storey vacant flat at Bongram of Wari.  She used to live with her family on sixth floor of the same building.

Forensic examinations confirmed that Saima was raped before she was killed.
Saima’s father Abdus Salam filed a case in this connection with Wai Police Station.
