One minor found dead in canal, another remains missing

Members of the fire service on Monday morning recovered the body of a minor boy, who fell into a canal in Purba Rajarbag area of the capital on Sunday afternoon while another minor girl remained missing after falling into a canal in Kadamtola on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Arsadul, 5 and the other one who remained missing is Ashamoni, 5.

Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, said that Arsadul went missing after falling into Manda canal around 3:00pm on Sunday.

On information, a team of divers of the fire service went to the spot and retrieved the body this morning, said the duty official.

On the other hand, Ashamoni, another minor girl, went missing after falling into a canal in Kadamtola area around 4:00pm on Saturday. Since them, the girl still remained missing. But, the members of the fire service are still searching for the girl.
