‘Online news portal registration to begin this month’

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said the registration of online news portal will begin this month (July).

The Minister said this while discussing contemporary issues at the Secretariat on Monday.

He said we took initiatives for registration of online news portal in March. But coronavirus situation deferred the move. We have already got report from intelligence agency. Hope, some news portal will get registration this month.

Initiatives will be taken to ensure that the declaration of the newspaper does not fall into hands of everybody, he added.

The information minister also mentioned that it was being investigated whether there was any irregularity in getting the declaration of the newspaper of Sahed, chairman of Regent Hospital Ltd.
