PM directs party men to prevent dengue

Senior Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the Awami League leaders and activists to play a role in destroying dengue-bearing Aedes mosquitos and preventing dengue fever outbreaks in the country.

The Prime Minister made the directive over mobile phone from London at a special meeting held at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Tuesday noon.

Sheikh Hasina also asked the concerned authorities to take effective steps to control dengue fever outbreaks in the country.

The ruling Awami League will observe a three-day cleanliness, awareness and caution programme from July 31 across the country to prevent the spread of dengue.
