PM mourns death of Ershad

Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad.

In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled the constructive role of Ershad in parliament as the opposition leader.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Ershad, also a former president, died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the city on Sunday morning.
