Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the nation on Sunday (May 24) evening on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
Her speech will be broadcast by Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar as well as private TV channels and radio stations at 7:30 pm from her Ganobhaban residence.
A press release signed by PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim came up with the information on Saturday (May 23).
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country on Monday (May 25) as the Shawwal moon was not sighted in Bangladesh sky today.
National Moon Sighting Committee made the announcement around 7:50 pm at a meeting held at the conference room of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka.
Secretary of the religious affairs ministry and vice-president of the committee Md Nurul Islam presided over the meeting.
