PM to inaugurate ‘Rajhangsha’ this afternoon

‘Rajhangsha’, the fourth and last Boeing 787 Dreamliner added to Biman Bangladesh Airlines, is going to fly its wings today.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who named all the Dreamliners, will inaugurate the fourth Dreamliner at the VIP terminal area in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4.00pm.

The Dreamliner will operate its commercial flights following the inauguration.

Biman’s deputy general manager (public relations) Tahera Khondokar came up with the information.

‘Rajhangsha’ arrived in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4:40 pm on September 14. The 4th Dreamliner, last in the row, landed at the airport directly from the USA’s Seattle’s Boeing Factory.

With the latest brand new Dreamliner, total number of the aircrafts in Biman fleet will rise to 16.

Rajhangsha, the 271-seat Boeing 787, has been designed as 20 percent fuel efficient carrier compared to the other aircrafts.

The airliner has the capacity to fly 16 hours nonstop with an average speed of 650 miles per hour.

It will provide its passengers with WiFi services at a height of 43,000 feet, allowing passengers to browse the internet or connect with their friends and family at any party of the world.

Earlier, the first and second Dreamliner Boeing 787-8, named-Akash Beena and Hangsabalaka respectively, arrived in August and December, 2018 while the third one known as Gaangchil arrived in July, this year.

Names of all the aircrafts were given by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself.
