PM urges all to follow health guidelines

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged all to follow health guidelines properly in a bid to tackle the spread of the coronavirus or Covid-19 as the number of deaths and infections in the virus continues to rise in the country.

The premier made the call while speaking at a virtual meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) from her official residence Ganobhaban on Sunday (June 21).

"Coronavirus is a problem not only for Bangladesh but also for the whole world. Life will go on...it can’t remain stopped. So, we want to return to the normal life getting rid of it," Sheikh Hasina said.

Many people, including a cabinet member, an MP and a good number of expatriate Bangladeshis, have lost their lives due to coronavirus, she mentioned.

In order to fight the pandemic, the Prime Minister urged all to follow health guidelines properly.

"Although the development of the country is being hampered due to coronavirus, we’re  trying our best to keep up the pace of development maintaining its continuity," Sheikh Hasina added.
