Pass rate, number of GPA-5 increase

Staff Correspondent: The combined pass rate and number of GPA-5 achievers have increased in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under 10 education boards.

This year’s percentage rate is 73.93 per cent which was 66.64 per cent last year.

The number of GPA-5 achievers in the 10 boards is 47,286 and last year it was 29,262.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni disclosed this at a press conference on HSC and equivalent examinations-2019 in the conference room of the education ministry on Wednesday noon.

The pass rate in eight education boards is 71.85 per cent, while 88.56 per cent came out successful in madrasa education board and it is 82.62 per cent in technical education board.

In the eight general education boards, the number of GPA-5 achievers is 41,807.

The passing rate of Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board is 88.56 per cent and the number of GPA 5 achievers from this board is 2,243.

Earlier, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni handed over a summary of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Ganabhaban residence on Wednesday morning.

A total of 9,88,172 students passed the exams out of 13, 36, 629 appeared from 10 education boards, including Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Board.
