Police constable dies with coronavirus-like symptoms

A constable of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has died with coronavirus-like symptoms.

He breathed his last at the National Heart Disease Institute on Saturday morning.

Ali Hossain Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “The police member was isolated after he was showing coronavirus-like symptoms. He was suffering from less cold and cough.”

“He felt chest pain while he was going to drink hot water in the morning. He was firstly taken Rajarbag Police Lines Hospital. Later, he was referred to the National Heart Disease Institute where duty doctors declared him dead around 10:00am,” he added.

The OC further said, “Sample was collecting to test whether he was infected with coronavirus.”
