Police finds Rony’s allegation baseless

DHAKA, July 30: Police have not found any evidence in support of ruling party lawmaker Golam Maula Rony’s allegation that two television journalists attacked him and threatened to kill.
Shahbagh Thana Sub-Inspector (Investigation) Abu Zafar submitted the final report on Tuesday saying the accusation was not proved true.
On the basis of the probe, the report cleared the Independent TV journalists- reporter Imtiaz Momin and cameraperson Mohsin Mukul- and its owner Salman F Rahman of the charges, which also include attempts of extortion.
Court fixed August 21 for the hearing on the case.
MP Rony is now in jail in a case filed by Assistant Manager of Independent TV connection for assaulting two of their journalists.
Moreover, two Journalists were physically assaulted by MP Rony and his followers when they went on a making of “Talash” a crime-investigation show at his office Meherba Plaza on July 20.
