Possibility of fair polls is very low: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said chances of polls to the two Dhaka city corporations are very low.

“Yet we are participating in the election because we believe in democracy,” he added.

The BNP stalwart said this after paying tributes at the grave of the party founder Ziaur Rahman at the capital’s Chanrima Udyan on Wednesday morning.

Fakhrul said Jatiyabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) promises to wage demonstration to return country’s democracy and free the party chairperson from jail. They will build unity of people to free the chairperson and return Tarique Rahman.”
