Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) have continued their protests for the fifth day, demanding the resignation of vice-chancellor (VC) Khondoker Nasiruddin.
Avoiding heavy rain, the students are continuing their strike on Monday. Students took position in front of university’s administration building. The number of protesters increased when students joined from different areas with placards.
Following the students protest, authorities on Saturday announced that the university would remain closed till October 3. But, most of the students did not leave their dormitories.
The ongoing protests got pace as district Awami League and its associate organizations expressed solidarity with the student strike.
The students vowed to continue the protests until their demands are met.
