Quader urges for utmost caution during Eid journey

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has called upon all concerned to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection through maintain utmost caution and following health regulations on Eid journey.

The Road Transport and Bridges Minister made the call after joining video conference at the office of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Monday. He joined the video conference from his official residence.

He said, ‘We were not worried as public transports were shut during Eid-ul-Fitr. But this time, the government has decided to run public transport for sake of public interest after reviewing various aspects. Although experts advised to remain the transport shut. Many have spoken of high risk of spreading the infection on public transport or Eid trip. In this case, tThe BRTA has an important role to play, including transport owners and workers’ organisations and law enforcement agencies.’

Obaidul Quader also urged everyone to play a responsible role for fear of spreading the infection through cattle markets.

He said, ‘There will be task force at every terminal. BRTA mobile court will work for all the time. They will take steps if they get any complaint.’
