Rain to continue, signal 3 for maritime ports

Moderately heavy to very heavy rain falls will continue for next two more days all over the country as a deep convection is taking place over North Bay and adjoining areas.

Meteorologist Bazlur Rashid of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said this to risingbd on Saturday noon.

BMD has asked the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal No 3.

In a warning message, the BMD said under the influence of the deep convection, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

It has advised all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

They have also been advised not to venture into the deep sea.
