Rape of DU student: DB police to probe case

Detective Branch (DB) of police will investigate the case filed over the rape of a Dhaka University student in the capital’s Kurmitola area on Sunday night.

The case was handed over to the DB from Cantonment Police Station on Monday night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cantonment Police Station Kazi Shahan Haque confirmed this.

Earlier on Monday, the victim’s father filed a case with police station accusing one person.

A second-year student of Dhaka University was allegedly raped and tortured in the capital’s Kurmitola area on Sunday night.

Her fellow students and several DU employees brought her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around midnight and got her admitted there.
