Ria, Hridoy sent to jail after confessional statement

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent Ria Khatun and Ibrahim alias Hridoy Hossain Mollah, who created rumour of child-lifting that caused Taslima Begum Renu killed in mass beating in the capital’s Uttar Badda, sent to jail, after their confessional statement.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Millat Hossain recorded their statement on Friday. Later, they were sent to jail.

Earlier, Abdur Razzak, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, also Badda Police Station Inspector, produced them before the court as they agreed to give statement.

Ria was arrested from Uttar Purba Badda Government Primary School on Thursday afternoon while Hridoy was nabbed from Bhulta of Narayanganj on Tuesday evening. Hridoy was put on a five-day remand on the following day of his arrest.
