Rohingya-Myanmar meeting ends without decision

The third phase meeting of Myanmar and Rohingya representatives has ended without any decision.

A high-level delegation of ASIAN and Myanmar went to Cox’s Bazar to discuss about the repatriation of Rohingyas on Wednesday. The delegates met the 47-member representatives of Rohingyas.  

During the two-day long meeting, Myanmar representatives requested Rohingyas repeatedly to return them to Rakhaine state.  

Meanwhile, the representatives told Rohingyas to return their home taking National Verification Card (NVC) but, rejecting that, Rohingya representatives said, they want to return home with various kinds of facilities including full citizenship.  

On behalf of the hundreds of Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar, 47 community leaders, including 6 women, took part in the discussion.
