Rule on recruiting psychologists in educational institutions

The High Court has issued a rule asking why councilors (consultants) and clinical psychologists (psychologists) will not be appointed in all educational institutions of the country. 

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the rule on Sunday.

Advocate Farhad Uddin Ahmed Bhuiyan stood for the petitioner while Attorney General Amit Talukder stood for the state. 

Earlier on November 24, Advocate Farhad Uddin Ahmed Bhuiyan filed the writ seeking a direction to appoint counselors and clinical psychologists in all educational institutions of the country.

Chairman of the Bangladesh University Grant Commission (UGC), Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Administration, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Planning, Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and Director General of the Directorate of Education have been made defendant in the writ.
