Russel says ‘no’ to Green Line job offer

Green Line Paribahan authorities have offered job in the Paribahan company to Russel Sarkar who lost his left leg after a bus of the paribahan ran over him in April 2018. But Russel dismissed the offer.

Advocate Harun Or Rashid on behalf of Green Line Paribahan made the offer to the HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader while hearing in the case on Sunday.

Russel’s lawyer Khandoker Shamsul Haque Reza told the court that they also want to settle the matter. But Green Line Paribahan is not paying due money for two months in name of the settlement, causing Russel’s treatment hampered. Before discussion, they should pay minimum an instalment.

In reply, Advocate Harun Or Rashid there is a doubt on settling the matter after paying instalment.

Then, the court asked both sides to discuss over settlement on Monday and fixed Thursday for verdict.

Russel, 26, who was a driver, lost his left leg from below the knee after he was knocked down by a Green Line bus near Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in the capital on April 28, 2018.
