SC stays illegal order on OSD for more than 150 days

The Chamber court of the Appellate Division on Sunday stayed a High Court (HC) order that declared illegal of appointing civil servants as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) for more than 150 days without assigning any duty.

The HC bench of Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Sashanka Shekhar Sarkar passed the order on January 8.

The court also directed the public administration ministry secretary to form a high-power committee to give due promotions to such OSDs within 90 days.
