SK Sinha acquitted of graft charges

Former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha has been acquitted in a corruption case filed for corruption and abusing power.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order.

On December 4, ACC director Syed Iqbal Hossain passed final report in the case and pleaded to release him from the charge.

Later, on February 2, petitioner Nazmul Huda appeared before the court and disagreed over the ACC report. But, the court acquitted SK Sinha from the charges.

Earlier, on September 27, Barrister Nazmul Huda filed the case against former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha. Huda accused Justice Sinha of influencing a High Court bench to issue an order in a bribery case against him, according to the case statement.
