Sadeque Hossain Khoka passes away

Sadeque Hossain Khoka, BNP vice-chairman and former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation, has passed away.

He died around 1.00pm on Monday (Bangladesh time) while undergoing treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed this.

On Sunday, Khoka’s elder son Ishrak Hossain told the risingbd that his father was in very critical condition. He was put on life support.

He sought doa from countrymen for early recovery of his critically ill father Sadeque Hossain Khoka.

Khoka was arrested days before the January-5 national election in 2014.

Released on bail from jail, he was admitted to Birdem Hospital in the capital, but doctors could not exactly detect his health problem.

Later, he went to the USA on May 14, 2014 for receiving treatment there.
