Saif ruled out of Kolkata Test due to finger injury

Bangladesh young opener Saif Hassan has been ruled out of final and second Test against India due to finger injury.

The historic day-night Test is scheduled to start on Friday, November 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Saif didn’t play in the first Test as Bangladesh settled on Shadman Islam and Imrul Kayes as openers. But Shadman and Imrul failed badly in the Test as both the opener scored just 12 runs in two innings. So there was an open door for Saif to make the team for the last Test.

Saif came as substitute fielder in the first Test in replace of Mehidy Hasan Miraz as grabbing a catch in the slip, ball was hit so badly on Miraz’s finger that he had to leave the field for first aid. And Saif took the catch of Pujara standing in the widish fourth slip in that match.
But taking that catch in slip, he was hit badly in his finger by the ball and later he also had to leave the field. Even he needed one stitch in his finger. He also didn’t take part any practice session in Indore.

His finger had not been healed till now as he didn’t attend in the practice session which just started today morning at Eden Gardens.
