Sangram editor gets first bail in virtual court

AbulAsad, editor of the Daily Sangram, has got first bail in the virtual court in a case filed under Digital Security Act.
A virtual court bench of Justice Jahangir HossainSelim granted his bail on Monday.
On behalf of AbulAsad, Advocate Mohammad ShishirMonir filed the bail petition.
ShishirMonir said AbulAsad was the first petitioner in the virtual court. Senior lawyer KhandakerMahbubHossain attended the video conference hearing.
On December 13 in 2019, MuktijoddhaSangsad Commander of Hatirjheel area, Mohammad Afzal lodged the case against the editor under the Digital Security Act.
Earlier, on December 12, the daily published a report, where executed convict Abdul Kader Molla was labelled as 'martyr'. He was convicted for his crime against humanity during the War of Liberation in 1971.
