Series bomb attack: 5 JMB men get 12 years jail

A court in Dhaka sentenced five activists of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to 12 years imprisonment in a case filed over the series bomb attack across the country.

Judge Md Al Mamun of Dhaka's metropolitan special tribunal-2 passed the order on Sunday.

The convicts’ are- Abdullah Al Sohain, Habibur Rahman Habib, Md Musa alias Mostafizur Rahman alias Samad alias Mintu, Md Abdur Rahman Mashud, Md Nurul Islam alias Uzzal alias Jubair. Of them, Habib and Samad are absconding.

The court also fined them Tk30,000 each, in default, they will have to serve additional six months in jail.  

According to the case statement, the convicted persons exploded bombs around 11:00am in front of Rajuk market on August 17, 2015.
