Shirin Akter Shela has become the first Miss Universe Bangladesh-2019.
The grand finale of the first-ever competition in the country was held at International Convention City Bashundhara in the city on Wednesday night.
Alisha Islam and Jessia Islam have respectively become the first and second-runner up in the grand finale.
The winner was crowned by Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen, who herself won the title of Miss Universe in 1994.
The Miss Universe Bangladesh will be the brand ambassador of Bangladesh in the 68rd edition of Miss Universe competition to be held in Seoul this December.
Shela is the third year student of the Department of Physics of Dhaka University and hails from Pirganj in Thakurgaon district.
