Singer Jhuma rescued from Tejgaon

DHAKA, Aug 7: Fiften days after abduction, Narsingdi district sadar model police rescued the Meredian-Channel i Khudey Gaanraj first runner-up Jhum Jhum Akter, alias Jhuma from city’s  Tejgaon  area at 7 a.m on Wednesday.

She was rescued three days after filing an abduction case by her mother. Jhuma was kidnapped on July 23 last.

Hearing the news of kidnapping case, Israfi managed to flee leaving Jhuma to Tejgaon victim support center. She said her mother Jesmin always used to torture her over different issues . For the fear of being tortured by her mother, she managed to flee and took shelter at victim support center in Tejgaon at Dhaka.

Jesmin Begum, mother of singer Jhuma, filed a kidnap case with Narsingdi District Nari O Shishu Nirjatan Daman Tribunal on August 5 against Israfil son of Delwar Hossain of Badail area in Dhaka and his car driver Faisal on July 23 from Tarua area in Narsingdi.

When Jhuam was going to her village home Dattergaon village in Shibpur thana from Dhaka , Israfil kidnapped forcibly her(Jhuma) and   married her.
