‘Snatcher’ killed in RAB firing

A suspected snatcher was killed and another injured in a so-called shootout with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members in the capital’s Hatirpool area on Tuesday midnight.

The deceased was identified as Shoshan Mitra, and the injured is Md Hasan.

According to RAB-2, a patrol team of RAB in front of Eastern Plaza asked three snatchers coming in a motorbike to surrender but the snatchers opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back.

Two snatchers- Hasan and Shoshan- sustained bullet injuries while another managed to flee the scene.

Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared Shoshan dead, RAB said.
