Soumya’s all-round performance leads Bangladesh to final

Bangladesh thrashed Afghanistan by seven wickets in the second semi-final of the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup at Mirpur on Thursday.

Soumya Sarkar was announced man of the match for his fifty and three wickets. He scored 61 runs facing 59 balls.

Winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto invited the Afghans to bat first. Darwish Rasooli’s dashing century propelled Afghanistan Emerging Team managed to score 228 runs losing nine wickets.

In reply, Bangladesh team overhauled the target with 61 balls to spare.

Bangladesh will face Pakistan Emerging in the final of the tournament on Saturday at the same venue.
