State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Abdullah no more

State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah died at a city hospital on Saturday night (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).

“He passed away at 11:45pm at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka after suffering a heart attack,” his assistant private secretary (APS) Sheikh Nazmul Haque Saikat told risingbd.

Nazmul Haque Saikat said Sheikh Md Abdullah was immediately taken to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital when he fell sick around 11pm at his residence and breathed his last at the hospital at 11:45pm.

"Sheikh Md Abdullah died after suffering a heart attack," said Anwar Hossain, public relations officer at the Religious Affairs Ministry around 12am.

Abdullah, a central leader of the Ruling Awami League, had been serving as a technocrat state minister.

He was born at Kekania village of Gopalganj on September 8, 1945.
