Stay at home, Shakib requests countrymen

Star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has requested countrymen to stay at home during lockdown to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.

The ‘poster boy’ of the country’s cricket said, “I request people, who are going out of home without extreme emergencies, to stay at home during the crisis moment.”

“It is very tough for those live on hand to mouth. But people who are affluent should come forward to them with food assistance to help them to maintain quarantine. All should come forward to overcome the situation,” he added.

Shakib came up with the request while speaking on Facebook live on Friday evening.

He said, “People who are affluent have much responsibility. We should assist helpless people so that we can return to normal life together.”

“People who live in different slums in the capital cannot maintain social distance even in their living room. They will have to pass days without food if they do not go out for a single day. So, we should contribute for them to overcome the crisis,” he said.
