Student tortured on Barishal university campus

A student was tortured and beaten up allegedly at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of Barishal University on Tuesday midnight.

The injured student is Mohammad Shahjalal, a masters student of Finance and Banking Department of the university.

The victim said that he was staying at his room, no. 4016, at night. At that time, Shanto, a student of the Department of Geology and Mining, entered his room and took him to the room number, 1001, of the hall saying an urgent matter.

Shahjalal alleged that the door was closed immediately after he had entered the room and he was tied up and beaten up seriously.

Shahjalal alleged that Shanto and some other unknown youths beat him with roads and sticks. At one stage, he managed to flee from the spot. 

Provost of Sher-e-Bangla Hall Md Ibrahim Mollah said the matter had been informed to the authorities.
