Sub-Inspector Jalil put on 2-day remand

A Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday remanded the arrested sub-inspector, Md Jalil Matabbar, in police custody for two days in connection with the drug and fire arms case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury passed the order after Darussalam police station SI Nazrul Islam placed him before the court seeking seven days remand.

Earlier on Wednesday, police arrested him from Darussalam police station area.

According to the case statement, SI Jalil sent a parcel to Gopalganj through courier service. But, the officials of the courier service informed police station when the parcel box started producing bad smell in capital’s Darussalam.

Later, a pistol, 27 rounds of bullets and Yaba tablets were recovered from the parcel box.
