Tannery owners to start rawhide procurement Monday

Senior Correspondent: Tannery owners will start rawhide procurement as usual from Monday (August 19).

Leather stockers and Tannery owners will solve the payment of arrears issue after meeting with Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on August 22.  

The decision was taken after the tripartite meeting held at commerce ministry on Sunday afternoon.

After the meeting, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, there is no problem in leather industries. Policy is being formed in this regard.

Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment advisor to the Prime Minister, Md Mafizul Islam, senior secretary of commerce ministry, Md Abdul Halim, industries secretary Md Abdul Halim and others attended the meeting.
