'Those involved in relief materials theft are like beasts'

Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif dubbed those involved in the relief materials theft during countrywide lockdown enforced to prevent the spread of pandemic coronavirus as 'man-like beasts'.

"Those who are misappropriating and stealing relief materials allocated for distribution among the poor and low-income people, mostly employed in the informal sectors, during the on-going public holiday to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak are not human beings. They are just tantamount to beasts," Hanif said.

The AL leader made the comment at a video message on Saturday (April 11).
