Tk4cr seized from 2 AL leaders’ residences

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel conducted drives to residences of two Awami League leaders in the capital and seized over Tk four crore cash.

Drives continued till filing of this report on Tuesday afternoon.

The law enforcers raided the residence of Wari Thana Awami League vice-president Harunur Rashid this noon. However, the AL leader was unavailable at his residence in Sutrapur area of the capital during the drive. Meanwhile, Tk 2 crore cash were recovered from two safety lockers of his residence.

Besides, another team of RAB conducted drive at the residence of Gendaria Thana Awami League president Enamul’s assistant Juba League activist Abul Kalam Azad and found Tk 2 crore more.

The search was part of recent countrywide raids conducted by the law enforcement against illegal gambling and casino business.

RAB officials claimed that the source of the money will be investigated.
