‘Trains to run on Padma Bridge from first day’

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said that trains will run on the Padma Bridge from the day of its opening.

The minister said this at a press conference on the visit of India and China at Rail Bhaban in the city on Tuesday.

“The construction work of Padma Bridge is going on in full swing. The Padma Bridge project has now witnessed an overall progress of 73 per cent.  The construction work of the rail route is also going on in full swing” he said.

“We are working on priority basis to open the 42-kilometre rail line-- Mawa to Bhanga -- to meet the deadline, the minister said.
