Two Regent hospitals sealed off

Rapid Action Battalion have sealed of Uttara and Mirpur branch of Regent Hospital Ltd including its main office for cheating people in name of corona test and treatment. 

Besides, a case is being filed against its owner Md Sahed.  

RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam confirmed the news on Tuesday.

The two hospitals were sealed off on Tuesday noon, he added.

However, all the patients undergoing treatment there shifted to other hospitals.

Apart from this, a private car owned by Sahed and unapproved corona testing kits were seized on Monday night.

Sarwar Alam said flag stand and sticker of Health Directorate were attached on the car. These were used to cheat law enforcement agencies.

Lt Col Sarwar Bin Kashem, Director (legal and media) of RAB Headquarters said a case will be filed against the hospital authorities over delivering fake reports of coronavirus test and cheating people in name of treatment.

He further said the case is expected to be filed on Tuesday. Then, those involved in the malpractice will be arrested.

Earlier RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam conducted drives at Uttara and Mirpur branches of Regent Hosital on Monday afternoon. Eight people were held during the drive.
