Two killed in Bandarban landslide

Bandarban Correspondent: At least two people were killed as a chunks of hill collapsed on a moving CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kaptai Upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased were known as Atal Barua, 50 and Sujaya Aang Marma, 42.

Local sources said the victims were buried alive when a chunk of mud fell on their moving rickshaw in Karigarpara area of Raikhali union around 11:00am.

On information, fire service rescuers were heading to the spot but could not start operation due to inclement weather.

Dildar Hossain, former chairman of Kaptai upazila confirmed the matter to risingbd.
